 Hi Mama!
I’m so happy you’re here. 

 

I’m Laura, a Mama to one 9 month old boy, one English bulldog and stepmom to one 6 year old boy. I started out in the fitness industry about 10 years ago when I realized exercise was my passion. I used to take the Women’s Health Big Book of Exercise and study it at the gym while I formatted my own workouts. I started working in public relations, but was training friends on the side and helping them come up with healthy versions of their favorite comfort foods. I competed in NPC bikini physique competitions and realized how dangerous it was to follow such a restrictive diet and exercise regimen. My body was left feeling depleted and exhausted and I was left confused about what to eat (white fish and asparagus?) and how to exercise (cardio in the morning and weight lifting at night?). 

I became a personal trainer and yoga teacher and eventually lived in Bali for a month for my second yoga teacher training. I learned so much about the body and mind and how to balance the two. After a few years, several of my personal training clients became pregnant.

I educated myself in pre/postnatal training and loved being a part of their journeys into motherhood. But it wasn’t until I became pregnant myself that I was able to relate on an entirely different level.
Feeling specific exercises in my own body as it transformed during pregnancy and into motherhood shifted my perspective, made me so much more empathetic and felt like “on the job training”.  

All of the online exercise programs I found for pregnancy felt a little too delicate and watered down. I wanted something that helped me maintain my strength in a safe, efficient way, while also tapping into my feminine energy. I knew my body was evolving, but that didn’t mean I had to compromise my strength.

So I created The Baby Body prenatal program while I was pregnant and started the postnatal portion once I was cleared for exercise postpartum.

What can you expect from The Baby Body exercise classes?

I will bring you safe, effective workouts in an efficient way, as I know time can be limited when you’re a parent. I’ll educate you so you move with proper form and teach you how to listen to your own body so that each workout meets you exactly where you are on any given day.
